New Line Cinema\u2019s horror thriller \u201cIT,\u201d directed by Andr\u00e9s Muschietti (\u201cMama\u201d), is based on the hugely popular Stephen King novel of the same name, which has been terrifying readers for decades.<\/p>\n
When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\u201cIT\u201d stars Bill Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/strong> (\u201cAllegiant,\u201d TV\u2019s \u201cHemlock Grove\u201d) as the story\u2019s central villain, Pennywise. An ensemble of young actors also star in the film, including Jaeden Lieberher<\/strong> (\u201cMidnight Special\u201d), Jeremy Ray Taylor<\/strong> (\u201cAlvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip\u201d), Sophia Lillis<\/strong> (\u201c37\u201d), Finn Wolfhard<\/strong> (TV\u2019s \u201cStranger Things\u201d), Wyatt Oleff<\/strong> (\u201cGuardians of the Galaxy\u201d), Chosen Jacobs<\/strong> (upcoming \u201cCops and Robbers\u201d), Jack Dylan Grazer<\/strong> (\u201cTales of Halloween\u201d) and Nicholas Hamilton<\/strong> (\u201cCaptain Fantastic\u201d).<\/p>\n
Muschietti is directing \u201cIT\u201d from a screenplay adapted by Chase Palmer & Cary Fukunaga and Gary Dauberman. Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg and Barbara Muschietti are producing, with Marty P. Ewing, Doug Davison and Jon Silk serving as executive producers.<\/p>\n
The behind-the-scenes creative team includes director of photography Chung-Hoon Chung (\u201cMe and Earl and the Dying Girl\u201d), production designer Claude Par\u00e9 (\u201cRise of the Planet of the Apes\u201d), editor Jason Ballantine (\u201cThe Great Gatsby\u201d), and costume designer Janie Bryant (TV\u2019s \u201cMad Men\u201d).<\/p>\n
