We here at Risky.TV, like most we think, are suckers for a dazzling, harmonic, uplifting song − especially remakes or multi-artist spins on classic’s like “Imagine.”

As Cailyn Finke, from FaithTap.com, writes: “Lennon’s inspiration for “Imagine” came about when he tried to envision a world with only peace, and without the division among all people. The song was released later that year [1971] in October, and it was an instant hit.”

Yet, in 1967, John Lennon also wrote a song called, “All You Need is Love.” And, as Mark Manson observes:

“He also beat both of his wives, abandoned one of his children, verbally abused his gay Jewish manager with homophobic and anti-semitic slurs, and once had a camera crew film him lying naked in his bed for an entire day.”

So, what’s that about us being kind of a buzz kill on the very magic you hear coming out of the 5-person crew, Pentatonix, above?

Well, we also like being realists, or proponents of teaching and sharing why, when energy is so on the edge of extremes in somebody (ie, preaching peace, love, harmony), oftentimes, the Shadow Side is deeply repressed.

Is there a way to appreciate, accept and understand how to balance that out — not only within yourself, but in how you judge it in others?
